What happens if my pet does not arrive in good condition?
Of course, the shipping risk is covered by M&m Wüst, for national and international shipments.
Since risks, for example, the shipping of shortly before moulting or not well-fed animals, are avoided, the animals usually survive the transport without getting harmed. However, should one animal (or more) contrary to expectations not arrive unharmed, there is as far as possible free replacement, otherwise the corresponding purchase price refunded.
If animals have suffered visible damage, please contact us as soon as possible!
How are the living animals sent?
The animals are placed in transparent plastic containers. Cell tissue and ventilation holes ensure sufficient air supply and hold tight possibility. The plastic containers are packed in cardboard and free space is stuffed with lightweight filling material. The packages go out as DHL-packages.
The Germany-wide shipping time is usually 1 – 2 business days (about 90% arrive after one day), for international shipments 2-3 business days are the rule.
As long as there is a risk of frost at night, living animals are additionally protected with heat packs and insulating material. So throughout in the wintertime, your new pets will be well protected. However, at temperatures below -5°C, the shipping can be paused (see then under News).
The surcharges for winter packaging are automatically adjusted by the shipping costs. So you can order in the winter as normal.
At extremely high temperatures (over 30°C in the shade), packages of living animals are additionally cooled with a cooling pack (frozen water in plastic bags). Of course, they are placed in such a way that they do not have direct contact with the animal containers in order to avoid hypothermia. So also in the summer your new pets will arrive well protected.
The cooling packs will be added to the packages free of charge. So you can order also in the summer as normal.
On the day of shipment, you will receive an email directly from DHL with the parcel tracking number and the tracking link. You will also receive further information on how parcels within Germany may change the recipient’s address (for example, indicate a neighbor as the recipient) or give a put down OK (for example, on the doorstep / in the garage, etc.).
Of course, you can also send the packages directly to an alternative shipping address – e.g. to the workplace or a neighbor.
If, despite all efforts, it is not possible to deliver a parcel, you may have to pick it up the next working day. Since the animals are always well packed and well-fed, they survive such a delay usually without problems.
The animals survive a multi-day journey in the package usually without problems. Nevertheless, please ensure as far as possible that the package can be accepted at the first delivery attempt.
